We would like to welcome you to the website of Camp Nazareth Retreat and Conference Center. Camp Nazareth, located in Mercer, PA,  has been serving a variety of groups and hosting many different events since 1977. It has hosted religious camps, sports camps, weekend retreats, school meetings, marriage retreats, band camps and other events during its 36-year history. Diocesan Summer Camp 2022

We are looking forward our 2022 Diocesan Summer Camping Weeks!!  As of right now, we are planning to have our 2022 Diocesan Summer Weeks at Camp at full capacity!  Please note that Registration will open on March 15, 2022.  The link for registration will be available here. 

Our Diocesan Weeks are as follows:

Week 1:  Sunday, July 17 – Saturday, July 23, 2022 –  Pittsburgh, Mid-Atlantic, Tri-State and Washington D.C. Deaneries

Week 2:  Sunday, July 24 – Saturday, July 30, 2022 –  New England, NY, NJ, Florida and Canada Deaneries

Week 3:  Sunday, July 31 – Saturday, August 6, 2022 -- Johnstown, Pocono, Southern Tier, Youngstown and Chicago Deaneries

Science and Nature Camp:  Sunday, August 7 – Saturday, August 13, 2022

More information about Summer Camp (including information related to the Camp’s facility, kitchen, medical and program plans) will be available closer to March 15, 2022.  Campers, Parents and Clergy are all encouraged to return periodically to the Camp’s website for helpful information as we move forward together towards the 2022 Summer.  As we move forward together, please note the following for 2022:

  • The Camping weeks will run Sunday to Saturday
  • Group Transportation (buses, vans, etc.) will be allowed
  • Registration for Camp will NOT involve a Pre-Registration Process (as it did in 2021)
  • Camp is planning to be at full capacity!
  • Kids ages 8-18 (must be 8 AND have completed 2nd Grade by the beginning of your Camping Week) may Register for Camp
  • Campers may register for ANY week (i.e. they do not have to register for their Deanery’s Week) at Camp. HOWEVER, Campers will NOT be permitted to stay multiple weeks!  Exception:  Campers who are Seniors will be allowed to stay multiple weeks.  All other campers may stay for 1 week only.  As of 2021, no campers are allowed to stay over the weekend at Camp.
  • On Tuesday, March 1st and Thursday, March 3rd (prior to Registration opening on March 15), Camp will be offering two informational webinars (they are the same webinar, but will be offered twice) about the 2022 Summer Camping Weeks for all our campers, parents, clergy, volunteers and potential Staff. Both webinars will be offered at 7pm.  Plan on attending one of the webinars to get the latest information on our 2022 Summer Camping Weeks including information about the Camp’s facility, kitchen, medical and program plans as they relate to up-to-date information about the Coronavirus.  The links to register for the Webinars are as follows (registration just requires your name and email and then you will be sent a link to the webinar):

Again, please re-visit the website for periodic updates about the 2022 Summer Camping Program.  Camp Nazareth is committed to providing a great Summer Camp Experience to its campers.  Part of that great experience is being healthy.  Camp and its Staff will continue to consult with the Camp’s Medical Staff and pay close attention to the most current information and research regarding the Coronavirus to ensure it is doing everything it can to make Camp a great experience this Summer for our kids.  Camp and its Staff are grateful that year-after-year you entrust the Camp with the care of your children.  Each year we take that trust seriously.  Camp 2022 will be no exception.

Camp Planning to Open at Full-Capacity with all Events in 2022

Camp Nazareth is planning to host all its events in 2022, including all our Diocesan Weeks.  These events include all its Summer Camping Weeks, as well as Family Camp and Family Day, its St. Symeon Seniors Retreat, and its other weekend and weekday retreats.  All these event are being planned at full capacity.  Here is a link to Camp’s 2022 schedule.  You can also access the Camp's schedule via the Events Page from this Homepage.

Camp Nazareth remains committed to providing a safe and beautiful environment in which to enjoy each of its events.  It continues to talk with its Medical Professionals, as well as pay close attention to the most current information and research regarding the Coronavirus to ensure it is doing everything it can to provide that safe environment.  It will continue to keep you informed of any new information and developments as they relate to Camp.

In the meantime, we are looking forward to being together for all the events in 2022.
