Summer Camping Program Update

CAMP NAZARETH, [Mercer, PA]  The following information regarding the 2020 Diocesan Camping Program has been released by the Director of Camp Nazareth:

Dear Camper Families and all the CN Family,

Glory be to Jesus Christ!

We hope you and your families are doing well.

Our Camping Season is just around the corner, so to speak. We are looking forward to the Summer and
are busy hiring Staff, planning our Summer Camp Program, and getting the Camp facility ready for all of
us. We are hopeful that we will be able to proceed with our Camping Program and are making the usual
preparations.

However, we are living in UN-usual times. Metropolitan Gregory and the Camp are grateful that you
entrust the Camp with the care of your children. We take that trust seriously. We wanted to tell you
what we are doing regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic and how we are adjusting our plans as we
prepare for the Summer Camping Season.

First, Metropolitan Gregory, the Camp Staff and our medical professionals are monitoring and paying
very close attention to the news and all the research that is being done regarding the Coronavirus. We
continue to have close consultation with the Camp’s Medical Staff and continue to learn from and talk
with the American Camp Association and the Association of Camp Nursing. We are listening to the CDC
and other sources to get the latest information on how to keep all our campers healthy and safe and are
working together with our local Health Department to ensure we are doing everything we can to make
Camp a great experience this Summer for our kids.

We continue to review and revise our communicable disease plans, our kitchen procedures and our
facility cleaning procedures as we receive guidance from the public health authorities and our Medical
Staff. Camp has a long history of keeping our campers and staff safe and healthy and of working with
our medical professionals to develop and maintain effective protocols for the prevention, identification
and treatment of any illness that may occur. The recent COVID-19 is no exception.

Please partner with us in all of this. More than ever, it is essential for you to complete all the necessary
health information online for your campers, as well as submit your camper’s Medical Examination Form
one month PRIOR to your camper’s arrival. Our Medical Staff will review all this information prior to
Camp, as it always does. However, before boarding buses and upon arrival at Camp, we will have
additional screening procedures that reflect the current best practices recommended by public health
authorities and the American Camp Association.
